Delivery Information

We operate solely as a business-to-business supplier and in nearly all circumstances equipment is shipped directly from the manufacturer to your provided address.

All deliveries are typically made via Secured Pallet on a kerbside basis via a Luton Van or larger articulated vehicle unless otherwise specified on your invoice. The customer is responsible for moving the equipment from the kerbside into the premises.

We deliver throughout the United Kingdom. If you have special access requirements (such as narrow roads or low bridges) and for deliveries outside mainland UK, such as Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands, Channel Islands, or international destinations, please contact us for a tailored quote.

Standard delivery to UK Mainland Addresses typically takes approximately 3-5 working days for stocked items from the point of order confirmation. Larger equipment may require longer lead times as there are set delivery days available during the week.

We take great care advising our customers at each stage of the process to ensure they are kept fully informed.

We will only provide tracking information when this is provided to us by the shipping companies. This is provided via email and SMS where applicable.

Yes. A responsible person must be available to sign for the delivery and inspect the goods upon arrival. Failure to inspect goods may lead to delays on any claims for damage. We advise all customers to take pictures of the goods on arrival.

Goods are also likely to arrive on a pallet at the kerbside so you should have suitable provisions in place to move the equipment purchased once it arrives with you. Drivers are not insured to enter your premises – meaning they will unload the equipment at the nearest accessible point to your premises.

If you cannot accept a kerbside standard delivery, then you must speak to us about upgraded delivery options which have additional charges.

Delivery Upgrades

Yes. Express or next-working-day delivery may be available for certain items and these must be ordered and paid for by 1pm. Please speak to us directly if you require express delivery. The typical rate for a next-working-day delivery is approximately £120+VAT per item.

Yes. We offer delivery upgrades including:

  • Room of choice delivery
  • Positioning of equipment
  • Packaging + Pallet removal

Availability and lead time depends on product quantity, size, intended location. This is a bespoke service and therefore quoted on a case-by-case basis.

Warranty Information

All our products are supplied with a minimum 12-month parts and labour warranty. In many cases, the standard warranty term is 24 months. We offer extendable warranties where available with the manufacturer – often up to 5 years.

Standard Parts and Labour Warranty covers: Manufacturing defects, Faulty parts, including the on-site labour for approved repairs. Terms vary depending on the manufacturer and we would advise all customers to read the specific manufacturer warranty information provided before committing to a purchase.

Parts Only Warranty: You may also see that some items, especially cheaper ranges, are supplied with a PARTS ONLY warranty. This means that any defect must be diagnosed by an appropriate engineer at the customer’s cost. Once a faulty part has been diagnosed by a qualified engineer, and with the receipt of an engineer’s report/worksheet confirming this, we can request those parts from the manufacturer for fitting. All labour is covered by the customer and not CaterDirect or the manufacturer.

All warranty usually does not cover: Incorrect installation, Misuse or neglect, Lack of maintenance, limescale damage, damage caused during transport after delivery, Consumable parts (such as gaskets and lightbulbs)

Some manufacturers require warranty registration after installation. Details will be provided with your equipment.

Stock & Availability

Our products catalogue shows the available items from our preferred suppliers and manufacturers. Most standard items with no special modifications are in stock and are typically shipped within a 3-5 working day lead time, but this is not guaranteed by CaterDirect.

When a quote is requested, we will conduct a formal stock check with the manufacturer to confirm an accurate delivery lead time. 

As we purchase directly from the manufacturer’s supply chain, the only way to gurantee that stock is allocated is via a paid pro forma invoice. We can hold delivery of the item until it is needed however, so if you’re ready to purchase we would always advise securing stock to ensure you’re not delayed by unforeseen lead times. 

Some product lines have a series of available accessories, additions and add-ons which are considered non-standard and therefore are typically made to order. Items of this nature can reach lead times on average of approximately 4-6 weeks. If you have a special-order requirement, we advise speaking to our sales team as soon as possible to ensure we can advise you accordingly.

Installation & Repair Services

Yes. We can arrange professional installation for many types of equipment including:

  • All Gas and Electric Appliances
  • Refrigeration units
  • Dishwashers
  • Extraction systems

Installation is a bespoke service provided by a network of trusted partners and will be arranged prior to delivery of any goods. All installation customers should expect an additional site survey cost of approximately £200 unless you’re replacing equipment like-for-like, in which case we can sometimes offer a remote survey but this is not guaranteed.

A site survey is an in person visit with an engineer, designed to ensure that your kitchen has the appropriate services in place ready for the installation of your new equipment.

A site survey is always recommended and is mandatory for gas equipment installs. We find that customers skipping surveys end up with delays and unexpected costs, often higher than the cost of a survey, due to services not being correct (such as single phase instead of 3 phase electric).

As part of the survey, the engineer will check that you have the right services in place and will advise of any changes that need to be done by the relevant trades before the installation date. Services will vary by appliance but will include, power (electrics), water supply and waste drainage. With gas, this will also include checking for a suitable interlock system and extraction/ventilation in accordance with the latest gas safety regulations.

Yes. Our engineering team provides repair services for a wide range of commercial catering equipment. Get in touch and we’ll be happy to help. This service is provided by a network of trusted partners nationwide.

Through our trusted network of partners, we can offer scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance plans to help minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.

Response times vary depending on location and availability, but on average an engineer callout to a non-contracted customer is typically 48 hours.

Payment Options

We accept several payment options including:

Credit & Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard) – please note a fee applies for a card transaction. Bank transfer (BACS) & Finance options (subject to approval).

We do not accept American Express or PayPal.

A Pro-Forma invoice is raised for all orders and goods are not despatched until payment has been received in full.

We are a VAT registered company and VAT is applicable to all orders at the standard rate. A full VAT invoice will be provided with every order.

Yes. Equipment finance or leasing options may be available for qualifying customers. Please contact us for details.

Returns & Damaged Goods

You must inspect the item for damage prior to signing for the delivery. The driver should give you the time to do this. If you have visible damage to the packaging or item, please do not accept delivery and contact us immediately. Please also take photos of damage.

If the item is accepted and signed for – it then becomes the client’s ownership falling under their responsibility. Therefore returns are not accepted for any goods damaged after the point of delivery (such as when moving into position)

Please see our full returns policy. We operate a 14-day returns policy for unopened items. Subject to the conditions of the returns policy and restocking fees may apply.
